The countdown is on. In 14 days, I’m having ankle surgery. It took me a long time to get to this point. I’ve tried everything - MRIs, X-rays, physical therapy, rest, elevation, medication, injections… you name it. Nothing has worked. And after all of that, the only answer I’ve been given is arthritis. I’ve had issues since February, but these last few weeks have made it clear - I can’t keep living like this. It’s not just about dancing. It’s about walking without pain. Making it through a workout. Being able to move freely and do the things I love. So, I’m having arthroscopic surgery. They’ll go in and clean out inflammation, fluid, cartilage - anything that’s contributing to the pain. But because arthritis is the root cause, there’s a chance it might not work. And if I’m being honest… that terrifies me. Still, I have to try. I’m going into this with hope, nerves, and fingers crossed. Chronic pain might not always be visible, but it can be quietly life-altering. This might not be major surgery (thankfully) - but it feels major to me. Just wanted to keep you in the loop, especially if you’ve noticed me moving a little differently lately... or not as much.
