🇲🇽 Mexico Is Preaching Progress! Here’s the Real Picture Claudia Sheinbaum is ranked the 2nd most popular world leader (Morning Consult, 2025), and Mexico ranks 5th globally in happiness—ahead of the U.S. (Ipsos, 2024). Yet every time someone mentions “Mexico,” comments default to “cartels.” That narrative erases resilience and flattens a country rich in history, culture, and innovation. Here’s what cartels alone don’t tell: •	Mérida, Yucatán is ranked the 2nd safest city in all of North America, and 30th in the world, according to CEOWORLD Magazine beating most U.S. cities. •	Netflix has pledged $1 billion in Mexican film and TV production by 2028, fueling job creation in local communities. •	Mule nearshoring investments: Unilever, Walmart and others are reshoring into Mexico creating thousands of jobs across manufacturing and tech. •	In 2025, Mexico celebrated 700 years of Tenochtitlan, with Indigenous-led ceremonies honoring Maya roots. These events included hundreds of thousands, not fear porn. •	Tourist hubs like Cancún, Puerto Vallarta, and Mérida report homicide rates as low as 2.1 per 100,000, lower than many U.S. cities, and continue to draw growing international visitors. Cartels may exist but they don’t define Mexico. Media fixation on violence feeds a selective outrage that masks the country’s growth, safety, and cultural pride. The next time someone says, “Mexico? Watch out for cartel violence,” challenge them: What about the state where people feel joy more than fear? We need narratives rooted in truth not fear-based stereotypes. 📌 Save this. Share it. Let’s shift the conversation. And before anybody says “ if you love Mexico, so much go live there” I am a resident of Mexico and a resident of the United States. #Mex#MexicoProgressa#RealMexicor#MéridaSafea#ClaudiaSheinbaump#HappinessIndexc#FactsNotFeara#StatisticalSafetyl#CulturalResiliencev#InvestInMexico
