It’s far cheaper for the driver not to go home and do the reset in the truck at the truck stop.Moreover leaving the fully loaded trailer at the truck stop is not secure at all.

I’m not in the road and the truck goes down and has to go to the shop if it’s gonna be more than three or four days I’ll either rent a car or fly home.

with all the comments you are going to get I would call the receiver see if I could leave the trailer in the yard or on property

Would rather drive truck home. Anything could happen at the truck-stop with an unattended truck. Also if stolen insurance will deem you abandoned the truck.

If I get a malfunction or check engine light, I always try to get the truck home to put it in the shop.
