I’ve always believed in the power and importance of reading so I would love to share that with ya’ll 🙏🏽🤎 This book here is called “Once Upon a Quinceñera” by Julia Alvarez. I came across this book randomly at the Long Beach Public Library. I’m more familiar with Julia Alvarez’s Fiction titles and really enjoy her style of writing. So when I came across this Non-Fiction title that I never heard of before I knew it would be a good read. Definitely did not dissapoint. In a short summary: Julia follows along a handful of latina teens, around the US, who are having their Quinceñera’s to study the financial, social, and historical aspects of the Hispanic tradition. She ends up writing about one specific teens Quince and describes the experience from her, Julia’s, perspective from beginning to end. #fyp #foryoupage #booktok #bookreview
