Step 1: I will start with a circle (pink). Then, I am going to draw a vertical and horizontal lines (orange and purple) passing through the center. Now, mark equal distances (green) in both lines. Next, draw curved lines starting at one pole, passing through each mark and ending at the opposite pole. Step 2: I am using a pin to attach a string to the center of the circle. There will be three types of lines in this drawing: verticals (red) -using the red grid lines-, horizontals (blue) -using the blue grid lines-, and vanished lines (pink) -drawn with the string-. Step 3: I have chosen an urban landscape with a phone booth, a red bus and the Big Ben in the back. Notice that this works exactly like a one point perspective, but verticals and horizontals are not drawn straight vertically or horizontally, but according to the grid. Step 4: Once I am finished with the sketch, I can go ahead and color it. Think about the objects that you want to use as your focal points and use color to emphasize them. Use layers from soft to darker tones to create depth and richness. Step 5: I used ink, colors and markers for this one. I wanted to create a gloomy, dark sky, so I prepared it with blue and orange tones. As for the surrounding buildings I want to keep them as neutral as possible. I also framed the composition with a black paper circular cutout. Step 6: The last step are shadows. They are the perfect way to emphasize the volumetry of objects and add depth. In this case I chose a light source coming from the right side and very high in the sky so that it casts fairly small shadows. #bkartchitect #winsorandnewton
