The majority of migrants—856,422—left Nepal in search of employment opportunities, with 769,890 men and 96,197 women making up this group. Additionally, 119,409 individuals migrated for studies, 18,713 for healthcare, and 5,847 for UN missions. Sports-related activities accounted for 2,809 migrants. These figures highlight Nepal’s ongoing reliance on foreign employment and the shifting dynamics of migration, with temporary stays gaining popularity over permanent resettlement.
