Here in Australia, the majority of the media is in the pocket of the liberal government.

This is why small local news organizations are so important, and yet there are so few these days, as they’ve been bought and shuttered..

News and or media without a bipartisanship can only be described as advertising...NOT reporting. An agenda does not allow for open and honest reporting of BOTH sides of the news

Remember when Malcolm Turnbull personally called up the news boss at sbs to demand a journalist get sacked who said something he didn’t like. (He was sacked)

The question “Do you trust the mainstream media?” is too broad to be useful. It’s like asking, “Do you trust this?”—without specifying what this is. If a tower block is on fire, we can see the footage—it’s happening. If road deaths are logged, those numbers exist. If interest rates rise by 1%, that’s a measurable fact. The real question should be: On what topics don’t you trust the mainstream media? That’s where the conversation gets interesting.
