Question is, why is a chopper just casually cutting across the entrance/exit path of an airport? like, shouldn't they know to keep that airspace clear because jets will be in and out frequently?

Yeah idk, DC is class B airspace (the most restrictive and controlled) where ATC provides direction and separation for airplanes so it’s so strange how this can happen

As a pilot,I’m shocked this happened. You have controllers that are meant to avoid this, & there’s less collisions actually at night cause of the anti-collision lights on each aircraft. :/

My son is in VA training on black Hawks for the army national guard. He said everyone on his base talking about it and no one understands how it could happen. Makes me anxious.

conspiracy theory here. Based on what is seen,the incoming aircraft had plenty of time to divert, so either not payng attention, it was on purpose and what was the aircraft doing in the landing path

1-why in the world is a massive Black hawk helicopter in the air at night? 2-didn’t the helicopter see the blinking lights of the airliner flying in the air? 3-it looks like it was intentionally all in all this makes no sense prayers for those on board 🙏🏼
