There’s a lot of graffiti - it takes you by surprise a little, but the people are AMAZING. Never felt unsafe.

We were just in Athens and went all over, nonissues whatsoever. Rome was dirtier and felt way more unsafe.

I loved Athens but everyone in the comments saying it’s not unsafe are lying. Especially as a female solo traveler going outside of the main city is scary. I got catcalled multiple times on the way-

as a person who was born and raised in Athens I can agree so much with that. Most parts of the city are really dangerous. As a woman I've never been to most places alone and I never consider to do it.

I’m here right now and can confirm. I’m still liking it, but i wasnt expecting the architecture to either be cool ancient one or just absolutely trash,i thought buildings would be better kept

Athens is a mix of different cultures;it has Balkan vibes,a European aura at the posh areas,ancient monuments and great food. it's okay to not like the mix but it's not unsafe. also best sunlight ever
