sorry as an art lover, i cannot look at the saturn painting for too long. i think thats a big reason why its so revered, it’s good it can spark that reaction but you aren’t edgy for liking it.

I think sometimes the “comfort” people are describing is an appreciation of disturbance. That feeling of not being able to look away from something terrible/gruesome until you can comprehend it
