All we know when we were kids, we used to think he was the villain, we didn’t like him for hurting Shifu, but all this time, Shifu was hurting him, he wasn’t really much as a villain, he was hurting.

Headcanon the only reason Po didn’t turn out like either Tigress or Tai Lung is because to them, Shifu was a father figure and their main source of validation. But Po already had a dad, and a GOOD one
