i agree. but adult life is full of boring, mundane tasks that are required for survival. how do we prepare kids for that if our main interest becomes keeping them entertained all day long?

Kindergarten through 8th grade are always going to be pretty boring. Those are the years where you learn and solidify the fundamentals. There could definitely be changes to HS, especially 11th/12th grades.

This is so true!! I’m trying to start teaching a digital marketing class in my high school & so many students want to take it, but the district is slow to catch up! So frustrating?!!

My sons public secondary school is self paced with a focus on game development and design. They graduate high school with certs in Python and Photoshop.

What’s frustrating is teachers try. I know I tried (I quit teaching). Teachers are tied to state standards and nothing is going to change intil the top changes.

Their inability to focus on things that don’t interest them at school is a them problem not a school problem. Not every job or opportunity is going to be something that they want to do so you can’t ..

Actually, most kids need a large amount of repetition to master a skill. Short bursts of technology activities are not equivalent to dissecting a books plot.

That’s a cultural thing and how they are brought up. My parents did a lot outside and we fished a lot. Learned math by counting worms and fish. Shows his kids too involved in social media already
