Our biggest Sedona hiking hack is… GO AS EARLY AS YOU CAN (preferably sunrise) 🌅 Sedona is absolutely breathtaking and because of this it can get insanely busy at times! Getting on the hikes as early as possible gives you 3 major advantages… - It allows you to avoid the crowds (which is super helpful if you want to get “the shot”) - The lighting is typically going to be much better than the middle of the day. The orange glow on the rocks is out of this world - It allows you to beat the crazy heat of day. Mornings are going to be a lot cooler! Here’s our top 5 favorite hikes… 1) Devil’s Bridge 🥾 It’s ICONIC! There’s a few trails that will get you here. We went with the Mescal trailhead making it about a 4 mile hike in total with a little over 500ft of elevation. We’ve heard stories of people having to wait in line for hours at the bridge to get a photo but since we went for sunrise it wasn’t busy at all! We got to go through the line multiple times with no issues 👍🏼 2) The Birthing Cave 🥾 We loved how secluded this one was. We only ran into a few other groups the entire time we were out there. Parking is on the side of the road. It was about 2 miles total and super flat until the hike up into the cave. Pro tip: to get the best shots here climb up into the little hole at the back of the cave 👍🏼 3) Seven Sacred Pools 🥾 Doing this one for sunrise added a couple of miles onto the hike but it was soooo worth it! You end up having to park in a community lot and walk through the neighborhood to start the hike. Since this is the case… there was no one else out there with us for sunrise. Given the time of day we started our hike ended up being about 3 miles total 👍🏼 4) Cathedral Rock 🥾 This one is definitely the toughest as it’s a pretty steep climb! The views from up top make it totally worth it though! It’s only a little over 1 mile and about 700ft of elevation 👍🏼 5) The Subway Cave 🥾 This can be found on the Boynton Canyon Trail.
