SSRIs typically cause irritability and agitation, but NDRIs (Wellbutrin) has been the only thing that actually help with my depression. I take something as needed for my anxiety.

Sertraline definitely helps my anxiety, but I don't like how it blocks my emotional responses. It's like I can feel the emotion, but I can't express it. Sometimes feels like being trapped.

SSRIs limit your emotional expression. Using a 0-10 scale, SSRIs let you live in 4-6. Surviving, not living fully. Long term use is dangerous.

Lexapro daily saved my life. Klonopin increased my depression/ threw into toilet. Ativan not so bad. use very infrequently- only if absolutely necessary

SSRIs cause blunted emotions, Post SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (permanent for some), suicidal behaviors, akathisia, and horrendous, suicide-inducing protracted withdrawal for some. Also, there’s very poor, biased science supporting the efficacy of them. I’d rather anxiety.

I find the current arsenal for treating anxiety to be underwhelming. antidepressants are hit or miss and benzos are for short term use and reduce the effectiveness of therapy.
