Had a pt specialist tell me that strengthening your abs takes pressure off your spine. This and kettle bell core exercises have worked well for me. I’ve had fractured L4, slipped disk and sciatica.

30 reps IS a lot. I think a good goal is to match back ext reps to your max push up reps. Sounds crazy mainly because most of us have never directly trained our low back in this way. Very achievable

I don't know man, I have been doing this, not reps, just holding it at the top. for 4 mths, it has been great, today my slipped disc relapsed doing it. not sure what was different. so frustrating.
