@yoboysebasss: quick storytime. yesterday in the middle of my friend and i protesting, i decided to step away to use the restroom and on my way back i found a shortcut and came across la virgencita & decided to buy a candle. in the few minutes we were there just sitting on a bench, a man approached us and a few minutes into the convo he told us that he was an immigrant himself from the philippines. i was automatically open ears to what else he had to say or what were this thoughts on everything going on. he then proceeded to ask us if we think that us protesting like we have been doing for the past two days (sun & mon) will change anything with trump being in office and that in itself having so much power. we had a good 40 min conversation with him & we explained to him that its gonna take more than just us protesting. this isnt something we made up to just cause chaos in the streets or put an inconvenience on people's everyday routine, sacrifices and responsibilities. although, some may take advantage of the situation and wanna turn this into a fight but us as the protesters, we dont want a fight. we want peace and freedom for all. we know they're quick to want to get rid of one of us & get away with it. we know they're quick to try to block us in, pull out the tear gas, zip ties & try to shoot us with rubber bullets & get away with it. we know they're quick to turn their back on us protesters at any given moment bc they dont like our way of expressing ourselves. atp its violence against violence except ours is harmless. its more than clear that its us against them. its just getting louder now. thats why its always been fuck the system, fuck trump and fuck the police. everything trump said he was gonna do, he is doing. too much at risk & sacrifice to just continue letting this mf do what he wants with our country. he wants this to continue being white supremacy. no one is illegal on stolen land. we shouldnt continue fearing them & our future. they are nothing without the power of people. every ethnicity. every race. every skin tone. we're all in this bitch together. yesterday was a small representation of that for the ones that participated. this turned into a rant but long story short, by the end of the conversation he thanked us for being a voice for those who cant like himself & asked if he could join us. i automatically thought to myself wow this is what i do it for. who i do it for. all this just to say i'll continue being part of the problem until it gets fixed & i'll make sure to be part of figuring out the solution & turning up to that when its time. to my protesters, stay safe & keep your guard up. streets aint safe but dont forget these our streets.
