pov: there has been a rumor circulating around the campus that you and ni-ki are dating. you still can't figure out how it happened and who started it, but one thing's for sure: it's not real. it's actually impossible for you to date ni-ki because he doesn't like you. you like him a lot, but it's just one-sided feelings. you’ve constantly shown him your affection, yet he always acts coldly, clearly indicating that he’s not and will never be interested. that's why, when the rumors started, he immediately found you in the classroom and pulled you onto the rooftop, where the wind whipped through your hair, carrying the weight of your unspoken feelings. ni-ki’s expression was serious, and you could sense the tension in the air. “what's the rumor all about?” he asked, frustration lacing his voice. “you know it’s not true, right?” “i didn’t start it, ni-ki! i swear,” you replied, your heart racing. “i just wanted to clear things up.” he let out a frustrated sigh, running a hand through his hair. “it’s annoying. people are so quick to assume things. do they really think we’re dating?” you nodded, feeling the sting of rejection. “i think they just see us together sometimes and jump to conclusions.” he shook his head, clearly irritated. “well, it needs to stop.” your heart sank at his words, the finality of them hitting you hard. you tried to explain more, but he was already walking away, leaving you standing there, feeling utterly defeated. days turned into weeks, and you kept your distance from ni-ki, convinced that he now hated you. you stopped following him around, avoiding any situation where you might run into him. one day, after class, you found yourself alone in the hallway as you prepared to lock your locker. just as you were about to turn the key, a guy approached you, leaning casually against the wall. “hey, you’re ni-ki’s girlfriend, right?” he asked, a smirk on his face. you frowned, shaking your head. “no, we’re not dating.” he raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. “right, because he seems like he’s not interested in you at all.” you felt a knot tighten in your stomach. “we’re just friends,” you insisted, trying to ward off the uncomfortable conversation. the guy leaned closer, an unsettling grin on his face. “how about we go out sometime? i could show you a good time.” your heart raced, and you shifted uncomfortably. “um, i’m not really—”
