In my province (AB) it's covered for MEN under our Healthcare but not women. It's cosmetic for us after birth but men can get fat, lose a bunch of weight and get their fixed for heath reasons

I literally CANNOT do sit-ups or crunches because of my diastasis. My doctor just told me to keep exercising and working on it 💀

just the belly apron that can come from pregnancy can cause a lot of skin deterioration and they call it cosmetic too... it's insane!

I have cysts on my ovaries and I have lovely doctors, but they can’t do anything about it because it’s not enough of an issue for insurance to pay for it. So I just have to wait for them to burst!

Twins here. 15lbs total. I’m 5’1”. Doctors said it was a hernia. Still wouldn’t cover it. It messed up the rest of my body, back pain, etc. had to save for the “cosmetic surgery”. I hate it here.

Mine was called a hernia, and my insurance still wouldn't cover it. I've been SUFFERING with intestinal issues forever. Just had a hysterectomy and was told my intestines were inside the hernia.

In the uk and unless you're paying private for the diastasis recti the nhs will not fit it.

I have this. I have a 4 finger gap. I did a year of PT. I was not overweight. Insurance says it’s cosmetic. They’ll cover it if I prolapse. My husband got his hernia. I have BCBS.
