I'm new (≈september) and my manager gave me one order: "do not help anyone without going through me first". At first I was a little skeptical, but she is so nice why be so totalitarian about it? Now I understand. We are 3 (24, 29, 32yo) in her (≈60 yo) service and she keeps an eye on us like a mother bear and intervenes whenever she feels that we are disrespected or asked too much (we are the legal department and we are only 4 for the whole company). She lets us shine. She lets us show what we’re capable of and she lets everyone know it. But she also protects us.
