Both my kids have adhd their schools let them go into a smaller room with other neurodivergent kids to do their exams & they also allow extra time.

How do you free up space in the pre-frontal cortex?? I’m 51 and feel my brain is fried 🤣 but my adhd daughter is doing exams next year, would love to know 💜

Spot on - I was A& B in coursework but exams at 16 I got one B a few C’s and rest failed. Had to resit A levels it took me to 2nd year of degree (age20/21) before didn’t need to resit exams -2:2 Jon’s

Coasted through my O-levels in the 80s (7A,2B), hit a wall with my main A-levels (DDE) BUT got an Agrade A-level in Gen.Studies (1 of only 2 people in my town that year)… That A grade saved me.

I failed my GCSEs because even though I'm really bright, trying to recall 9 different subjects was complete overload. I'm now a teacher of Computer Science with a degree in Cyber Security 🤷

I was diagnosed with ADHD at 40..I was slightly above average in school & university but excel most during work-life where understanding is more important than memorising

my son has ADHD was predicted 7, 8's in his mocks got 3,4's he just can't sit still or concentrate in an exam, he's obviously bright but he just can't concentrate long enough, change should be made

retaining anything I was taught at school was soon forgotten about. Concentrating for a start on what I was being told never lasted. My GCSE grades were rubbish and I'm undiagnosed.

I hate tests, but I excel in coursework and get high marks every time. Surely there are other ways to test for knowledge and understanding.

I was classed as very bright in primary school and went to a school for "gifted" children but failed miserably in my exams in later years
