No. Updating bios is rarely a good idea unless your computer doesn’t boot up at all. Updating it won’t help and can cause SO MANY issues.

The old motherboards were a nightmare through dos but nowadays you can live update through windows or a usb and failures don't happen often now.

your opinion is correct, BIOS updates are generally just for security or if you have issues. But its also worth it for a brand new computer as the age of the installed one may be much older

The BIOS should be update yearly or when there is a BIOS update, most manufacturers today have BIOS updaters with the BIOS or ones that can be run from windows, if scared get a professional to do it.
