Railways and canals coexisted. The lower bridge accommodated canal traffic, while the upper bridge was placed on top of the lower one to provide additional strength for heavy rail loads.

I did this walk recently. We clocked it at 3.5 miles. It’s a nice walk but that hill at the end up to the car park is a killer. We couldn’t park in the torrs. But there is one a bit further up lol 😏
