I probably saved more money getting a decent PC 10 years ago than buying the new console every 3 years (ps4, ps4 pro, ps5, ps5 pro) also the indie game market is far more vast

PCs aren't 1500 lmao, my PC can run games in 4k at 60 and it was 1250, you can get PCs that are significantly better than consoles for under 1000

7 years ago I got a 2800€ pc. Today it can’t even run some games at minimum settings (like stalker 2). I also got a ps5 at launch for 700€ and it can run every game with better graphics than the pc

1. I play with all my friends on console and if I get a pc to play those same games then in order to continue playing with me they have to play against other pc players. so they would all be at a constant disadvantage. 2. cheaters in multiplayer games 3. cost 4. longevity. every console I've ever had is still in my possession to this day and I've never had one fail. I don't want to spend $1k+ on a pc for it to be obsolete in 5 years when I've had my SNES for 25 years and still enjoy it today just as much as I did growing up. consoles stay in their era and continue doing what they were designed to do in that era.

You can build a 800 pc thats better than the PS5 pro, it's been proven by multiple youtubers. You can do more things than gaming and if you like the "couch experience", just plug it to your tv and use a controller 🤷 you'll also save hundreds on games over the years.

not to mention PCs are a nightmare to diagnose problems for the lamen if something goes wrong. basically need to pay 100s to get an expert to diagnose/fix issue, or buy a new $1500-2000 PC.
