I don't agree with it. But I do understand the reason. On the apps it's common to filter out under a certain height. So if we are honest, 86% of men will never even be seen by majority of women.

I think a lot of guys don't get responses on apps if they don't have a 6 in the height department. I've had 5'9 in my bio, and haven't had a match in a long while.

People are atrocious at perceiving height. I adamantly tell people that I’m standing in front of that I’m 5’4”, and both men and women insist that I’m anywhere from 5’6”-5’9”.

At 5'10.4 per my last physical, I find that if I say I'm 5'10 girls assume I'm lying. Also I know women who won't consider men under 6ft, but can't tell.
