How about car insurance! You have to pay monthly to have your car insured in case you are in an accident, that way you’re protected at all costs with little or no effect to your finances. However if said accident actually does occur and you are forced to use that insurance that you pay for monthly, you now are forced to pay an even higher monthly payment due to having to use said insurance due to car accident that the insurance is supposed to protect you from. So no accident=pay REGULAR high monthly insurance payment. Car accident =pay EVEN HIGHER monthly insurance payment.
