You guys did this in the 70s and 80s and kids got kidnapped and molested and murdered. There was a whole ad campaign, “do you know where your kids are?” These laws were in reaction to that.

wow we walked all kinds of places other than the store at that age. these younger generations are too soft and them are some sorry excuses for human beings for arresting the mother for this

The problem is the mom was 30 minutes away yet she still left the house knowing the kid was missing. I leave my 3 home alone a lot but I have an 18, 13, & yr old and they all have phones plus Life360.

Really back in the day I use to store by myself an never got my parents in trouble for being a kid trying to be independent just in case of anything laws this days are hella weird
