I never understood being ”drowned” in the toilet as a kid watching american shows, its physically impossible in our toilets in sweden. It made more sence when i saw an american toilet later 😅

This explains why the water level is so high in cartoons, and the concept of swirlies. I always wondered that. I’d look at my toilet level and see it so low and get confused (from UK)

So.. USA uses a siphon based flush system, where all the water is literally sucked out by force. In Europe we usually have a gravity based flush system, where we add water to push oht the excrement.
