My job would trade overtime for leaving early, so if I would have worked 2 hrs .o.t. I can leave two hours early the next day paid, most would take this offer on Fridays

As a Manager, I would work with you. If we can't allow overtime, I will let you leave early the next day. or take a long lunch or whatever works for you.

Why is their overtime? Right 4 ppl are doing 8 ppls jobs. They’re trying to get free labor out of their employees without directly asking. It’s so obvious it’s insulting.

Big boss said no overtime so my boss left accordingly then big boss come in two hours later looking for him wanting to know where he was. I said he went home because somebody told him no overtime

where I work labor is the cheapest thing in the building and they do nothing but complain about OT. a box of pipette tips costs twice my daily wage and I use multiple boxes a day

Local lady in this quandary, was working OT off the books for future PTO. She kept separate OT time cards as well. Tried to take her 130 days off and that didnt fly. Ended up getting paid 1.5x for OT
