Starting with mealtime every day I will have each dog stay on their place and wait for me to prep their food. For extremely food oriented dogs, this is the most important time to practice impulse control and patience. If they can maintain self control around their favourite thing (breakfast time) then they will have better self control around everything else like cats, other dogs, jumping on people, counter surfing, etc. resource guarding in dogs is nothing more then instinctual and it's better to be safe then sorry when it's comes to food in a multi dog household. When dogs are over aroused from the excitement of meal time, that is when they make bad decisions and may act out.
