@hiking_adventures: On February 14, 2025, 3,400 employees were wrongly terminated from the United States Forest Service. These terminations included field rangers, wilderness rangers, trail crew, biologists, archaeologists, recreational techs, forestry techs, botanists, public affairs officers, river rangers, and geologists. Many of these positions were doubling as Foot Patrol in their forests. These terminations were full time permanent positions. Probationary designation is NOT mutually exclusive with unqualified – Many of these individuals were years into working with the federal government and were not recent new hires or new overall to the Forest Service. These cuts affect essential workers who work on wildland fires with red card status, maintain trails, manage campgrounds and facilities, support search and rescue operations, monitor wildlife, restore landscapes, and clear hazardous fuels that aid in wildfire preparedness. These reductions will make it MUCH harder for our forest service employees who are left to care for public lands and for Americans to have safe, enjoyable outdoor experiences. 🚨IF YOU PLAN TO VISIT NATIONAL FORESTS IN THE NEAR FUTURE, YOUR VISITOR EXPERIENCE MAY BE AFFECTED. 🚨 📞 LOOKING FOR ACTIONABLE WAYS TO BE INVOLVED? 📧 Please call and write your lawmakers right now (you can do this more than once) and ask them to push back against cuts to land management agencies and to reinstate the terminated public lands employees. Let them know how passionate you are about our public lands, and this is NOT something you will let go. You can find the link to the @outdooralliance Fast Action Form in my bio where you can quickly email your representatives! **The data presented was crowd sourced with the help of many brave federal employees who are trying to get the word out but remain anonymous in fear of losing their jobs.**

I see this as a threat to sacred and unspoiled lands that likely have some mineral that is wanted regardless of what it will do to water tables
