I grew up once they were born. The advice I give comes from a life they didn't see. I feel it makes me look like a know it all. My heart knows so much pain that I try to spare them.

tbh this can be hard to pull off. I get a little of "advice" from my parents (even tho I'm nearly 50) and it sort of just feels like criticism a lot of the time. it probably depends on the person and the delivery, but sometimes just listening and supporting might be preferred. just my take and my experience. So much so that with my own children I deliberately go out of my way not to give advice.
