@cbsnews: In a rare sighting, a super pod of more than 2,000 dolphins was spotted breaching off the coast of Monterey Bay earlier this week. Among the dolphins were northern right whale dolphins, which usually remain in deeper waters and are the only dolphin species in the North Pacific without a dorsal fin. “They’re all smooth,” Evan Brodsky, a boat captain and videographer with @Monterey Bay Whale Watch said of the encounter. “When they jump, they look like flying eyebrows.” Several hundred Pacific white-sided dolphins were also within the super pod, as well as many light gray baby calves. #dolphins #animals #ocean #animalencounters #sea #pacificocean #monterey #montereybay #california
