The word Trinity means a group of three. it refers to three distinct persons—God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit—who are one being: God. They are distinct from one another. There cannot be 3 Gods because John 17:3 says, “Now this is eternal life; That they know you, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ, Whom you have sent.” This proves that the FATHER IS GOD. John 20:28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God” This proves that the SON IS GOD. And Acts 5:3-4 states, “…How is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the HOLY SPIRIT…You have not lied just to human beings but to God.” This proves that the HOLY SPIRIT IS GOD. We know that it has existed eternally. Meaning they have always existed and always will exist. We know both the Son and the Spirit with the Father, before our universe was even created. (John 1:1-3, Genesis 1:2) Remember they are distinct from one another. John 14:26 says “But the advocate, The Holy Spirit, whom the father will send in my name, will teach you all things…” This proves the Spirit is separate from the Father. John 6:38 says “For I came down from heaven, not to do MY OWN WILL, but the will be of HIM THAT SENT ME”(Jesus talking) This proves the Father is separate from the Son. Acts 10:38 says “God anointed JESUS of Nazareth with the HOLY SPIRIT and power” This proves the Son is separate from the Spirit. In fact this is one of the few verses that captures all three of the Trinity in once verse. All three members of the God head work together in many ways, From the creation of the world. To the rescue mission of humans through Jesus. Even to how we pray to God and how we will eventually be saved. Ultimately, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not the same person, but all are fully and equally God.
