@ambardriscoll: my something blue 🩵 I really wanted some kind of accessory to go with my dress for the reception - I was toying with the idea of a neck scarf but it didn’t feel quite right. Then one day in May I went to the John Singer Sargent exhibit at the Tate Britain, he was an incredible painter who specialised in portraits. The exhibit was actually called ‘Sargent and fashion’ because of his love for fashion and the way he painted different fabrics and texture. I noticed a lot of the women in his paintings wore taffeta shawls, and then I saw one painting where the lady was wearing a beautiful blue silk shawl. I’d never seen anything like it and knew immediately I had to wear it on my wedding day. I sent a message to my dress designers and they replicated it perfectly, it felt SO right
