Well said…as a home craft cocktail guy people do not understand why when I make a cocktail for us I waste it if it comes out wrong. If I am going to ingest poison, it has to be worth it. Bought botanist gin for $40 and really did not like it. I have no problem wasting the bottle, or giving it away, as it is meant to be enjoyed otherwise it’s a total loss imo. Also, one thing people don’t understand is that alcohol is unique for its properties of flavor extraction. There is no other vessel that would allow you to enjoy seemingly abstract flavors like different woods, smoke, fermented dried fruits, random herbs etc. drinking a low quality spirit that doesn’t have any of these flavors or notes to get drunk on a budget just defeats the purpose. You may as well really penny pinch and drink some rubbing alcohol
