It might not use the stack but you can only activate mana abilities if you either have priority or permission to pay. You have permission to pay only when you’re in the middle of resolving a spell

cool 5 cards, 1 is 5 mana, 2 require 4 mana and 1 requires 5, if someone can't remove at least one of those by the time you can play them, they should lose

Tainted remedy still triggers from the life gain. the triggered ability can be responded to. but land abilities do not use the stack. so this is half correct

If the opponent life gain was before the colon or a "whenever this land taps" wording, then yep, but because burnwillows has it after the colon, it technically uses the stack.

Is SBA not checked after a mana ability? 704.3 says “whenever a player would get priority…”. 605.3 says “activated mana follows rules of other activated abilities with exceptions…” 1.
