And if you don’t have kids, it’s illegal to claim dependents, so if you have an employer and no kids, you’re stuck with paying more and getting a refund.

Yes but this is SO difficult to get right if you’re self employed. Because your estimated tax vouchers are based off of last years liability. So that assumes your income is the same, deductions are
