I had a coworker who was in the Nat’l Guard and was in NOLA. He refused to talk about his time there. Same dude did 2 tours of duty in Iraq.

My grandpa drowned in Katrina in the 9th ward, we didn’t find his body until October. He was a WWII vet. I miss him everyday.

I remember seeing the water lines and these tags still on the houses in 2006. People forget how devastating it was and how long it took to clean up.

I met a gentleman who was one of the people responsible for checking houses and writing the tags. A very interesting man, and admitted to still being haunted by the event over 20 years later.
