@karpov.paris: 📢 High Jewelry Gouaché, a Unique Craft in Peril: (Please comment ART if you think our craft deserves recognition, and here's why high jewelry gouaché is in danger) Today, digital renderings—faster to learn—are gradually replacing this demanding technique. Yet, gouaché is far more than just a drawing method: it is a heritage, an emblem of French high jewelry. Despite its importance, the profession of gouacheur is not officially recognized as an Art Profession in France, unlike all other manual high jewelry crafts. This exclusion deprives it of vital state support and key opportunities (fairs, awards, etc.). We had the privilege of learning from the greatest masters, and today, we carry the responsibility to preserve and pass on this exceptional expertise—but this mission is becoming increasingly difficult: Since 2018, we have shared the behind-the-scenes of gouaché on our Instagram, but: 🔹 It takes an enormous amount of time—99% of the visuals you see on our page are personal creations, made on top of our professional work as designers and gouacheurs (to respect client confidentiality agreements). 🥵 🔹 Instagram has changed, no longer showing our content to all our followers as it once did, making our efforts even harder to sustain. With such limited visibility, if nothing changes, this essential part of jewelry heritage could vanish within a few years. ☠️ That's why we are making an urgent appeal: 🔹 To the Ministry of Culture @culture_gouv: We request that the gouacheur profession be added to the official list of Art Professions. This recognition would secure its transmission, give it a rightful place in specialized events, and inspire new generations. 🔹 To major jewelry houses: We seek your support so that gouacheurs can showcase their work. They are the natural ambassadors of this technique, the ones who keep it alive and teach it.
