If your telling your dog to leave it while still pulling on it, their confused because your still playing. By making it limp, you're taking the fun out of it which encourages them to let go! Don't forget that once they give us what we want, we give them what they want!! Which is simply fun, so bring all the playtime and energy back to keep practicing and reward them for making the right decision. Reinforce with leash pressure if your dog keeps pulling the toy away from you so that you can hold them accountable. When you're playing with your dog, remember to practice this command with them numerous times so that you can remain in control of the play session and situation.
