Establishing healthy sleep habits early can really help your baby (and you) sleep better. Here’s what’s working for us at 4 months: 🌑 We keep the room dark and calm to support melatonin production. I try to block every single bit of light. 🛏️ All naps happen in his own cot, in his room, to build positive sleep associations. At night, he still sleeps in a bedside crib next to us and will do so until he’s at least 6 months old. 🔁 We use consistent sleep cues and follow wake windows closely to put him down just in time. 🍼 I put him down completely awake and he falls asleep on his own, but every time he drops the pacifier, I have to go back in to put it again, which is very annoying. So I’m planning to start weaning him off the dummy around 5 or 6 months. 👀 I always keep an eye on him with our wireless @Numsy Parent Pro baby monitor. 😴 I don’t stress too much: sometimes he’ll nap for 2 hours on his own, other times (more often lately) he wakes after 35 minutes. I try to resettle him in the cot and if it doesn’t work, a contact nap it is. He’s going through the 4-month sleep regression, so I’m meeting him where he’s at. 🌙 He usually doesn’t wake up at night anymore, sometimes just once around 5ish for a quick feed. PS: We always place him on his back to sleep. Now that he rolls independently, he often ends up on his tummy, which is developmentally normal at this stage. #babysleep #safesleep #4monthsold #babynaps #sleepregression #mumlife #babydevelopment
