I don't feel like victory garden has the right vibe. I am feeling so angry. I suggest dissent garden, protest patch, or maybe seeds of rebellion.

Dollar tree has seed packets 4/$1.25, small pots 4/$1.25 and medium pots 3/$1.25. Walmart has seed trays for $3 & 72 plug trays that come with the clear lid for $6. Happy gardening!

Free seeds are great, but if you’re able, I highly recommend the Alliance of Native Seedkeepers. Most of their seed packs are $2 and they have a TON … plus, you’re supporting Native people 🙌🏻

Reminder most of the produce you buy is ready to plant when it “expires” when those potatoes bud, plant em, when the green onions get slimy and roots get long, or plant em!! When your onions/garlic sprout in the fridge plant em!! Oh and dollar tree has seeds usually for 50-99cents

please start your gardens now, as a US based nursery we just got word that our soil prices will DRAMATICALLY go up since all solids have ingredients that can only come from Canada, peat moss.

I once made a sub-irrigated planter with storage tubs and used drink bottles. I grew a ton of stuff on a 4th floor apartment balcony. For those of us in hot regions, that type of setup is invaluable.

also food scraps from your kitchen when you can! there are so many you can plant instead of tossing. and it's faster than seeds.

My father in law was an avid gardener. He had an amazing garden on a 1/4 acre lot. His 3 children are all gardeners as adults; my brother in law cans and sends us jelly and pickles every year.

Seeds can be saved from tomatos, ripe peppers any color but green, any dry bean or other legume, popcorn (never tried but should work), any mature winter squash or pumpkin.
