Peter Thomas Roth has a product similar to this. it is a reaction of the ingredients meeting Sibum and dead skin cells on your face. As someone that used to work in skin care, this does work, but my skin does build up a tolerance to it and I need to take breaks for it to be effective.

I used it on my elbow where I had a patch of persistent dry skin and it exfoliated it all off. I was surprised but happy it worked. That area is nice and smooth now
