Sandy is one of so many owner surrenders in need. Without support & donations for owner surrenders, rescues will be forced to wait until auction where these horses will only suffer far more. Rescuing before auction (when it's possible) is ALWAYS the best option for the animal. There is not the emotional draw from the imminent threat of sl@ughter, but that is exactly where Sandy would've ended up. It is so easy to fundraise for horses at auction & so much harder on rescues to take in owner surrenders. We HAVE to change this. If you truly want more horses saved & out of auction, keeping them out of flippers hands in the first place is the most ideal scenario.
