This trail is just over 3 miles round trip with about 480 ft of elevation gain. It’s not terrible when you read it like that, but don’t be fooled. It was tougher than I expected! That middle section has a solid incline that really got my legs burning, my heart pumping, and my lungs breathing. (To be fair though, we did another hike just before this one in in triple-digit heat in the middle of the day.) We started the hike around 6 PM, which we highly recommend! It was still warm but manageable, and the lighting was perfection with just a little cloud cover. We hit the top just as the sun was dipping low and then got to enjoy the full sunset on the way back down. Bonus: low crowds at the arch! Tips if you go: ✔️ Bring plenty of water, even if hiking in the evening ✔️ No shade, so wear sun protection regardless of time ✔️ The trail isn’t clearly marked in some places (especially on the slickrock), so try not to be the last one out ✔️ No water at the trailhead And speaking of being last out… we saw so many people starting the hike after 8 PM and it legit baffled us. They were heading up as we were heading down, and unless they had headlamps (which we didn’t see), I can’t imagine coming back in the pitch black. The trail can be hard to follow, especially if you’re alone. Definitely plan ahead and hike smart! #DelicateArch #ArchesNationalPark #UtahHikes #FamilyAdventure #SunsetHikes #RVLife #FullTimeTravel #TravelFamily #NationalParks #HikingTips #EpicViews #IconicHikes #TravelWithKids
