@ashleeinc: This is Courtni’s spooky scary storytime submission about her Great Aunt Eloise’s phantom limb experience and how she felt uncomfortable after losing her arm. What do y’all want next? Glitch in the matrix? Liminal spaces/back rooms? Fae?
Umm he shot off her arm and she continued dating and married him? Were there no other men around? 😳

I’ve turned down a second date if he makes too much noise when he eats. So this was humbling ..

phantom sensation is 100% a real thing, my residents who've had amputation will say things about feeling trollie horses or other pains in their non-existent limb

I think this is really interesting because cells carry memory. So if the limb is disconnected and the body still living, maybe the cells are still communicating. Just a thought.

idk about her Aunt's experience, but my mom was a double amputee above the knee & she would complain her "foot" itched or she felt "knee" pain. Phantom pain is real.

Yes phantom pain is very real (I’ve been a RN for 26 years). It has to do with nerve paths and it takes time for the brain to be “reprogrammed”.

I think her Aunt had CRPS. Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I have CRPS & some symptoms are what she said her aunt described. CRPS is a very rare disease that is typically caused by some sort of trauma

phantom limb syndrome is real, it's a clinical phenomenon. the brain is still trying to send neural signals to the limb but doesn't get the feedback it expects, which can result in feeling like the

phantom pains happen as a result of the nerve endings, the nerves are still there, they have been severed but the brain doesn't recognize that the part is gone because the nerve is still there. as far

It's actually really normal to have phantom pains after amputation. My grandma used to feel her leg after it was gone and the same pain.

This is interesting I'm studying behavioral neuroscience and I can't remember the study but people who lose limbs still can believe they feel things from their lost limbs. The brain doesn't recognize
