@drjessicaknurick: The chronic disease rates in this country are not because of bad science. They're because of bad policy. ‼️ We know what largely causes chronic disease - poor nutrition, physical inactivity, stress, inadequate sleep, environmental exposures, lack of access to care, and more. This isn’t new. We’ve had strong research for decades. But instead of acting on the science, this administration is: ❌ Slashing $1B from local food systems and school nutrition ❌ Proposing deep cuts to Medicaid and SNAP ❌ Rolling back EPA protections ❌ Defunding the Diabetes Prevention Program—a landmark study that led to nationwide prevention programs. They’re pushing the idea that we need to “investigate the causes” of chronic disease, as if we don’t already know them. That’s not just misleading. It’s a deliberate strategy. Because if people think science has failed, they won’t demand action. And if they blame individuals, they won’t hold policymakers accountable. It’s not bad research. It’s bad policy. And this administration is making it worse. For more info on this, check out my Substack article today.

Of course there's a lot of chronic disease when insurance only wants to pay when something has happened (sometimes) not preventative care. Preventative care is a luxury.

Every single doctor has told me to exercise, quit drinking and moderate coffee. Even a few has told me to sleep better. To sleep better!

I want to know where the “Again” in MAHA comes from. Like, at what point did they think we were healthy?
