As an Orchardist it is a right of passage in spring to take the newbie farmhands to the pear block and have them enjoy the aroma. I used to tell em to lean in and get a big whif, it's a subtle smell💀

My high school decided to line Every. SINGLE. WALKWAY. With Bradford pear trees. The campus used to be a college with about 10 different buildings. We hated spring in school.

I will always hate on Bradford pears. If Bradford pears have no haters left I’m dead. Our apartment complex decided to plant them *everywhere* and it’s awful

My high school planted these trees ALL OVER campus, and it was a MASSIVE high school. We all walked around with our shirts pulled up over our noses. We called them the tuna trees 😂😂

My entire neighborhood I grew up in had these trees. We had at least 4 in our yard. They smelled like sewage every spring 😐. Also the flimsiest trees ever- a light breeze and they fall on your car 🥲

Am a Missourian and allergic to the... pollen. Super proud of the de-spoogifying plans. Botanical Gardens even erected a special tent for selling alternatives during the annual plant sale.
