I clean mine with oil and salt. Once per month I'll add water and use a non-abrasive scrubber. Always use little to no water with cast iron.

Had my cast iron for a couple years now. Never put a drop of soap on it. Hot water and a wire scrubby thing. Just dry it and use vegetable shortening after every use

As a lifelong cast iron user, as long as water doesn't SIT in the pan, it's fine. Just dry them thoroughly and wipe them with vegetable oil. Old food isn't seasoning lmao.
