This was our second time staying in this cabin. Derek and I came for my birthday and we loved it so much that we wanted to bring our girls back. This time we got to enjoy the river! The girls had so much fun swimming in this and kayaking/tubing. The water was clear and warm. The Airbnb is very remote so if you value privacy, this is for you! The AC was cold, beds were cozy and views were amazing. Moonie the cat was an added bonus. My girls fell in love with him. 🐈‍⬛ 🌙 There are not a lot of stores or restaurants nearby so come prepared with food & snacks. We ate at Cool Carr’s Dairy Bar one night and they were so friendly there. My family got milkshakes there twice. About 30 min from the Airbnb are some gorgeous waterfalls: Cathedral Falls in Gauley Bridge and Kanawha Falls. Up the mountain from the falls is Hawk’s Nest State Park which is a must see! We have eaten at the Hawk’s Nest Lodge restaurant twice. An hour from the Airbnb is The New River Gorge Bridge in a cute town called Fayetteville. Be sure to walk the town and shop! We’ve eaten dinner twice at Secret Sandwich Society. Their Brussels sprouts are the best! Drive down 82 to get to Fayette Station which is right below the bridge (which is the 3rd highest bridge in the US!) Down there you can walk on the rocks by the river and watch the white water rafters and kayakers. Nearby are some places to go zip-lining (which my family loved) and an awesome waterpark in a spring fed lake! We got the half day pass to Ace Adventure Waterpark and had a blast. There is so much to do here. 4 days was not enough.
